Steam desperados12/16/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() I do not know why the "profiles_00" folder should even be part of the problem and i am not even sure if it is, but i made this step just to eliminate it as a cause for the problem. The "Profiles_00" folder should now be present and you can now try the steps in the second guide If you do not see the "profiles_00" folder, then start the game load one of the missions that work for you, save your game or quicksave then exit the game. Launch the game and check to see if the problem persists. Use the steps in the previous guide to replace the "profiles" file yet again (you don't need to reinstall the game this time) See what files are inside, there should be a folder called "Profile_00" and a file called "profiles" the last file being the one you have replaced in the guide above. Open game directory, go to Data and the open the folder called "savegame" If that above does not work for you try this: Launch the game and load the mission you had trouble with. When asked if you want to overwrite the files click yes. Paste the "Data" folder from the Zip file into the install directory so it merges with "Data" folder already present in the game directory. Right click Desperados in the steam games list, click "properties" followed by "local files" and then click "browse local files" and the install directory for the game will show. Open the Zip file you just downloaded and navigate through the folders until you reach the one called "Data" and copy the folder. Uninstall the game then reinstall it but do NOT launch the game. This is not a 100% fix, this works for some but not for all: Originally posted by luacS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.com:It happens everytime it loads mission 2, I've most likely tried all workarounds listed here, none seemed to work Please let me know if i was unclear on any part and i will try to elaborate.Įdit: Forgot to add that the sound may sound a bit awkward at some points and that it's currently impossible to play this in fullscreen at the time of writing (even if you go fullscreen it wont work, the game will just be inside a smaller box with dark/white borders). When you start up the game don't worry if the mouse starts to clone itself on the main menu, it will not behave in such a manner in-game (if everything went according to my description). Go on "scale factor", i like to maximise it but that depends on your own screen resolution i guess. Now, let's consult our dear "view" option in the upper left corner of our virtual machines extra options. ![]() There's a reason behind this, the mouse would be way faster than light in game and would like clone itself (rendering the game unplayable).įorgot to mention that you also should enable the "drag n drop" function, because then you should be able to dump the desperados folder directly onto the virtual desktop (game still playable without Steam). The option should be located in the down-right corner of your virtual machine, under the taskbar. It could be wise to change the "mouse interegation" or something around those lines to "no interegation" (something like that). Second up should be to pre-eliminate possible problems. Very important that you also create a virtual hard drive to said machine (which can be done in the installation progress.
